NOVEMBER 2021

The entire Papalia Training team had an incredible 2021 show season, everyone worked so hard all year and ended up with great results, accomplishing many goals.

Cynthia Kruger dominated in the .85 ring all year, with Champion and Reserve at almost every show.

Karen Mori and Viento took on both the hunter and jumper ring with great success. Many new goals for next year, we can’t wait for all that’s to come for them.

In their very first CET Mini Medal Regional Finals, Bryn Harvey and Kiwi finished 3rd and Sawyer MacKenzie and Felix in 5th Place - it was also Sawyer and Felix’s first show together.

Lizzy MacDonald rode Felix in the TBGHS, finishing 8th in the Medal Finals. Thank you Sawyer and Kristi Buender.  Lizzy also rode Emma’s horse Hello Harry in the CET Regional Medal Finals to great success and wonderful rounds in her first year competing in the big medal. Thank you to Emma for lending Harry who is such a confidence booster.

Emma Woo and Adriana 56 were great all year and had a solid end to the season finishing 3rd Place in the TBGHS Medal Finals, 2nd Place in Jump Canada Medal Regional Final and 6th Place in the Jump Canada Medal National Finals in Calgary.

Emma also moved up to the 1.30 ring with her horse Harry this year and they had great success and many top placings all year.

Jessica Felcan and Emoji came in 5th Place in the TBGHS Medal Finals, and 4th Place in the CET Regional Finals. Unfortunately, Emoji had a minor injury after arriving at the Royal West, yet Jessica got the ride on Cortofino and ended up 2nd Place overall in the CET Medal National Finals. A huge thank you to Mikayla Brabant for lending Jess Cortofino, he is a very special boy.

Ashley and Cacharel had numerous placings in the CSI 3* 1.35/1.40 Divisions at August Thunderbird; 5th Place in the $10,000 1.40 Grand Prix in September, with Reserve Champion in the 1.40 Division. At Royal West they finished 3rd Place in the $75,000 1.45 Canadian Championships, finishing 8th overall.

Congratulations to sales graduates Houston and Picasso. Houston qualified for the National Hunter Derby Finals and finished second in the west overall. So happy for his success. Picasso had a spectacular season in the pre greens and hunter derbies, winning the Ashby Series over all hunter derby horses, and competed well in his first national hunter derby finals.

Congratulations also to Kira Gillespie on the purchase of her new horse, exciting to see what this pair will do.

Lastly, we would also like to welcome Mady Sadek and her lovely horses Bee and Exie to the barn.

Looking forward to a heading down to California in February with the whole team and to see what 2022 has in store for us.

Joanne Nielsen and Wyatt were Reserve Champion in her hunter division as well as 2nd in the hunter phase of her medal.

Jinelle Girard and Houston were Champion in her 2’6 hunter division as well as Reserve in her 2’6 equitation division.

Ashley Papalia and Quateron won Champion in Quateron’s first time out doing the 3’3 hunters.

Looking forward to the next show.

MARCH 2020

The group of horses that travelled down to HITS Coachella in California had great success.

Our resident Prince Charming, ‘Impact’, was sold back into Canada, and we have been enjoying getting updates about how wonderful he’s doing.

Paddy also sold back into Canada to a very nice family who leased him while down in California. Both horses are happy and doing well.

Cacharel KDW Z finished the three weeks jumping super in the 1.35 classes. This is only the beginning for this mare - looking forward to where the year will bring her.

Another very successful winter circuit down in California, looking forward to our return.
